Anyone wants to adopt Big Muddy?

Maddy likes that big fellow

… who acts aloof

Muddy has mellowed a lot… he is not even hissing as the other cats come close to his cage. Tried to put on the harness… but it won’t fit around his muscular chest. This huge cat would need a dog’s harness!

Wonder who caused the puncture wounds at his neck? Which cat would dare to attack Muddy… I guess even a dog would think twice!

Muddy is really very special, not only because of his size but also the colouring and blue eyes. I think he is a Siamese-X like Maddy.

How I wish they would find a loving and safe home! Maddy now likes to run across the car-park entrance… so many speeding cars!

They are being fed by ground-floor residents at Area 2… but that’s all they do! I remember when Muddy was so sick last year. He had been missing for 8 days before I found him… a cat less tough would not have survived!

Will have to keep him in for at least 2 weeks until the wounds heal and to complete the course of antibiotics.

Muddy’s wound looks worse

He has two deep puncture wounds. I am sure Big Muddy is more than double the weight of a normal cat so he will need double dose of Curam.

No sight of the new female at *27…

Muddy

Muddy is slowly improving, though one eye is still a bit watery. His fur is growing back and he is gaining weight…. more lively less fearful.

Muddy

Muddy suddenly developed bald patches around his neck. The underside of his neck looks worse. Will apply the neem oil again at the next feeding…

Gretel to be spayed

Gretel and her brother Hansel are new abandonees at Area 2, *17.

Saw another new abandonee today… a black male kitten about 5 months old.

There is also a new black-and-white male at Area 1.

Worried about Muddy… he doesn’t look so well. He has large bald patches around his neck and a bit of eye discharge. There is a small wound on his left paw. I applied neem oil, eye ointment, powder.

Muddy released

Had to release him yesterday afternoon to make space for a cat with flu. Muddy is still not back to his old self… walks slowly and eats slowly. Sad to see him like that. He didn’t come running at feeding time last night but at least I found him and he ate some fancy feast. Searched for him twice this afternoon and finally found him sitting at the car park…. he went back into the drain after eating.

Muddy used to sleep in front of a ground-floor unit at *02 now he doesn’t go there anymore. Was he chased away?

Be smart and stay safe, Muddy!!!

Yesterday a feeding auntie called to say that someone saw a black-and-white cat at blk *26 foaming at the mouth and fur all wet… it went into the drain. I searched several times but couldn’t find the cat. Later Jacky was missing at feeding time and also Dirty Harry but he is not a regular…

I feel so useless and helpless… unable to protect them!

Muddy has a room-mate

This young female is from Area 3 Blk *45. Sylvia caught her this morning and I collected her from the Feeding Aunty in the afternoon. Aunty said that she was very noisy… but so far she seems to be quiet. She will be sterilised tomorrow.

I think Muddy is still constipated…

Muddy getting better

I was worried because he had not defecated since I brought him in 4 days ago. Have been syringe-feeding him a whole can of Avoderm every day and also gave him some oily Liver-Chicken Feast with added wheat grass for fiber. Today I was thinking of giving him an enema and smsed Ivy to help me hold him down…

Muddy must have sensed that I am up to something unpleasant… a few minutes later there was poo in the litter tray 🙂

Will probably release him in 3 days time.

Update on Muddy

Muddy is a good boy! Some growling and hissing… but he swallows the syringed food and the antibiotics and also let me wash his eyes and apply ointment. He even ate a little on his own today. He is also less dehydrated now.

I transferred him to the storeroom so that he can be more comfortable in the bigger cage (it’s a large storeroom and with windows).

Blaine feels warm and has no appetite.. Ivy is worried. He could have caught the virus from Muddy…

Muddy found after 8 days

Eyes watery, dehydrated, fever, runny nose, lost weight… looks like a bad case of flu!

I had already given up hope… and almost didn’t notice him sitting at the curb next to the bin center.

Blaine found but Muddy missing

Blaine didn’t come regularly for feeding and he was scared of Muddy, even Darly and Darky would hiss at him. Then he went missing for more than 2 weeks.

It turned out that he had moved to Ivy’s area. We will leave him there unless he chooses to return.

Muddy has been missing for 3 days…

Caught the Big Head today

Old pics of Muddy

Muddy will finally be tipped after 2 years. Most of the time he was not around when I wanted to get him. Then there were a few unsuccessful attempts. One time he bolted when I had him halfway in the carrier.
