Was Snoopy a victim of abuse?

Now only it dawns to me that Snoopy was probably a victim of the abuser! She is from her corner and I believe that she was also going upstairs at that staircase as she was sometimes not around during feeding but has never wandered to any other locations.

In Dec ’09 Snoopy went missing for a week and was then found with blood dripping from her mouth and blood stains all over her body… probably because of licking herself. She also had some kind of lower back injury as she had difficulties getting up. I had always suspected that she was hit by a car but coming to think of it… it seems more likely that her injuries stem from being hit on the head and back! A car would hit either front or back but not both!

Vinegar & Mothballs

Again the corridor was clean! No smell, stains whatsoever! Anyway, I sprayed vinegar along the corridor and staircase and placed mothballs near the flowerpots.

I wonder how cats can run into her flat with all that extra reinforcement? Perhaps it happens a long time ago… probably one of the 4th floor cats got lost and mistook the abuser’s flat for its home which is the same corner unit but on the 4th floor.

I “spoke” to the family once again… warning them to keep the cats indoors and also indicated that there is an abuser around.

There are still 2 cats that go over to “her” void deck – Squealer and Claudy! Bibi and Benny also go there but they are at the other end of the block.

Police Report was made

Please help find Scarback!

She has a scar at left shoulder and a long tail with a kink at the tip

Reporting animal abuse is not an easy task… you may be given the run-around (SPCA – AVA – Police).

We ended up leaving the unhelpful NPC and went to another NPP where a friend of mine had previously made reports regarding animal abuse! Two officers went to speak to the abuser and later reinforcement of Mandarin-speaking officers arrived.

The abuser was warned but she did not reveal anything about Scarback’s where-about! She had told M this morning that she engages the Pest Control to have the cats killed.

We can search the neighbourhood but if Scarback was relocated by Pest Control there is little hope…

Scarback missing for a week

Suspected to have been “removed” by the cat-abuser. The Chinese women in her 50s staying at the second floor of Blk *26 had been seen beating the cats… and at one time she was observed trying to hit Pinky! She told someone that she would remove the cats at her void deck and the next day Scarback was missing.

I send sms to a neighbouring caregiver who told me that a limping grey tabby was seen at *37 yesterday. Went to search but did not see any tabby…

I wish that a police report would be made but as usual difficult to get the witnesses to do so…! This woman has to be stopped or Squealer may be next… sigh! SPCA Abuse posters have been pasted at the lift landings and appeal for witnesses pasted all over the place… yet she still continues!

Limping Kitten with stapled ears

Someone spotted a limping white kitten with its ears stapled at Block 239 Yishun! Caregivers from nearby areas have been searching for the kitten for 2 days now. At least 8 people took turns… but no sight of the kitten. Later a shopkeeper heard plaintive meowing from near the rubbish dump at 238….still no luck!

I made several rounds on bicycle after midnight. Saw this white cat looking intensely at something under a car…. I checked but there was nothing…

Some very useful info from Dawn’s blog:

The feeder saw the Chinese man who is known to her.

Two caregivers from other areas went down to check on the cat and to persuade the feeder to make a police report…. she refused! Her logic “If I report then he will beat more cats!?.

The cat was a newly abandoned white-and-tabby. It later went into hiding.

The feeder says that the Chinese man who lives at Block 800 wanted to stroke the cat and was scratched. He then beat the cat repeatedly using a drink can. He hit the cat so hard that the can was flattened! According to the feeder a women walking by with her son remarked “This cat so stupid, let the man beat… why don’t run away!?

Perhaps the abuser is of unsound mind… but what I don’t understand is WHY DID THE FEEDER AND THE WOMAN WHO PASSED BY DO NOTHING TO STOP HIM !!!
