Mango looked quite ill and resists syringe feeding. Today he is a bit more lively and no vomiting. Now Sky is not eating.
Snoopy was attacked by one of the naughty boys. I think it was Darly… saw him chasing her even though he is still wearing the E-collar. She has a wound at the tail… tail not moving.
Darly will be going for check-up on Monday and hopefully removal of stitches.
Ah Girl trapped and released
LK and myself set up the trap at 11pm and left at about 1.30am. Sylvia called at 4am with the good news that the cat is in the trap. She was also worried about Ah Girl and couldn’t sleep. I quickly cycled down. Luckily my son was awake and also came to help bring cat in trap down from the roof.
Was told that SPCA will do trapping only during day time… all the feeders feel that she won’t come during the day as this central area is a very busy place.
So I collected my trap yesterday, which I had lent to someone, and prepared to set it up on the roof. Luckily my son was free to help and the nearby 24hr shop kindly lend their ladder.
We waited from around midnight until 6am. Ah Girl went to the trap a few times but did not enter… even though I used strong-smelling cat food topped with Party Treats and replaced it after 3 hours….
Was too tired to go for the balloting today but LK went and and also spoke to them about the cat on the roof. Seems they are now willing to set the trap at night.
Ah Girl had no food for 2 days now, only water but she may have eaten one or two morsels at the entrance of the trap…
Hope she is hungry enough to enter the trap tonight!
Spoke to the tenant of the 2nd floor beauty shop about leaving the window and door open for the cat to escape. He gave me his number but said he would have to talk to the owner “who is a nice man”…
Road Runner went onto the roof again yesterday night. I saw him enter the roof through this gap.
This morning LK saw him trying to get back through the narrow gap… he couldn’t! In the end she managed to pull him through. The problem is that the gap is now about 50cm above the ledge so I guess the body shape is different when jumping up! When the roof was there the cats could simply walk through the gap as it was level with the roof. Maybe Ah Girl had also tried and got stuck…
This Persian cat was abandoned. LK thought he was lost and took him in.
Today she saw a Chinese couple with cat-food. They seemed to be looking for a cat. LK was very happy until they told her that they didn’t want the cat back because he urinated on the son’s bed. They just came to give him some food…
The cat is very friendly and uses the litter tray. He will be sterilised before adoption.
Met the owner on my way back from cat-sitting. He said the cat has been fighting again.. how much is the powder? I said never mind I have some… He insisted I take $20.- Is it serious? I asked. No, no…not serious!
Passed by the mamak shop to check… looks quite bad! Chocolate is not the friendliest… he cannot be pilled! Gave him some wet food with antibiotics mixed in… and quickly dabbed some powder on the wound!
Lift upgrading… a part of the roof has been cut and Ah Girl is now trapped on the roof.
Finally she went to the edge where I had placed some food and water.
The cats used to enter the roof through this narrow gap on the second floor…
Ah Girl could still reach the ledge by walking over the metal part or jumping… but I guess she is too scared. Placed some food there to tempt her.
Road Runner managed to get off the roof on the 3rd day.
Thor went missing in October last year. Found him today far from where he was lost (removed).
I was informed about an unsterilized cat in another neighbourhood. When I saw this photo taken by TC officer I thought this could be Thor…
Went to check today and it is Thor! Exact marking and same injured toe. He also has patchy fur and can’t eat again. Something wrong with his throat or flu? The feeder says he had not been eating for the past few days. He also did not touch the food I offered.
Two cats were trapped on the roof which goes around the building at first floor level when part of the roof was cut (probably for lift upgrading). The cats used to enter the roof via first floor staircase and gap in the wall. Now this part of the roof has been demolished!
The young male cat was able to jump down on the third day… but I think the female won’t dare to jump. I managed to place some food and water on the edge of the roof but she was too scared to come close to the edge. The man from SPCA had a ladder and went up onto the roof but failed to catch her. He advised to place food near the gap on the first floor. She could actually walk over a narrow piece of metal to reach the gap… but she is just too scared!
Was discussing with Sylvia about informing TC and have the workers place a plank over the gap in the roof… but somehow we have no confidence in TC and especially that particular property officer.
Met Chocolate’s owner and he said that he is going to send Chocolate to SPCA because he is going on holiday for 2 months. When I told him that this will most likely be the end for Chocolate … he looked unbelieving and said “Killed ahh?… Then I give you food and you feed him for me”.
Noticed a 1cm spot that was not there the day before. Looked to me like an abscess going to burst. Brought Orange Boy to see Dr Goh at Mt Pleasant this morning. Shaving revealed bluish purplish legs… infection! Something must have gone terribly wrong somewhere….
Orange Boy also has high fever and his kidneys are failing… high creatine levels and high potassium. Hopes of recovery are slim… but they will try to flush by putting him on drip and inserting catheter again.
My feeling is that there is internal urine leakage…
May I have the wisdom to do what is best for Orange Boy!
Flowers from my daughter and herbs from LK
I have suffered from insomnia for so long that I have forgotten how it feels to sleep through the night. So tired all the time…
Really hope this works! Yesterday night I took half a tranquilizer tablet left over from OB’s medication and went to bed… but then the phone rang. LK said she can hear One-Eye Jack softly meowing inside the power room. So I got up and cycled to Blk *03. The cleaning supervisor came to open the door but there was no cat. LK must have been mistaken…sigh!
I have put up Missing Cat Posters around the area.
Maybe around 10 needles were inserted… later heat and electric current were added. Dr Oh also suggested the use of herbs… but I will try acupuncture alone first. I know the herbs will be quite ex…
Dr Oh also noticed that OB is a bit pale. I think there is some infection! He vomitted again after eating… so I syringed some wet-food and Appelin.
Many thanks to E, M, G and Mi for sponsoring part of Orange Boy’s medical expenses!
Cycled by Blk *24 and saw a woman carrying a basket and the boy trying to look into the basked… I turned round and observed. True enough there was a kitten in the basket. The women told me that her son found it and assured me that she would take it home and that she had cat-food. I am not convinced…
The kitten has a pretty white and light-grey colour and long straight tail.
Told her to put the kitten up for adoption if she does not want to keep it and asked for her tel. no. in case someone is interested in adopting.

A shocking selfishness surrounds everywhere
as brainwashed people show that they do not care
that an infant satisfies their appetite.
They eat someone’s baby with utter delight.
When a waitress asks, ‘Would you like lamb or veal?’
It is someone’s child that you choose for your meal.
It’s not even disguised, so what’s the excuse
for partaking in this cruel form of abuse?
The disturbing fact of what the masses eat
is covered up by words that make it discreet.
No masked name has been given to ‘lamb’, like ‘pork’,
People eat babies with a knife and a fork.
If an alien came and visited Earth,
craving to eat the child to which you gave birth,
You’d see it otherwise; the way animals see.
You would abhor the slaughtering industry.
Culture and tradition are, in part, to blame,
but we’re humans, not robots, who CAN feel shame.
Take the first step to awaken your senses,
and boycott this practice of false pretenses.
This barbaric custom simply makes no sense,
and certainly has no ethical defense.
Eating a baby without even a thought;
A lie well told and sold that humanity bought.
One-Eye Jack has been missing for 2 days! This is very unusual… something must have happened! Called AVA and SPCA and searched with LK for a long time yesterday night. LK thought she heard a faint meow in the drain but maybe mistaken. Could have been the sound of one of the two busybodies who kept following us… Midnight and Beany! My hearing is hopeless…
After Jireh vet I went to Mt. Pleasant to visit Darly and bring Orange Boy for the required check-up before he can receive acupuncture treatment from Dr. Oh.
Darly is very hyper…playfully biting and scratching. Again without food and water… and in the end stitching postponed until tomorrow.
Dr Choi said he has not decided on the best method yet. He will either use a flab of skin from the leg or use the intestinal lining which has good healing properties.
Waited 48 hours….no pee! Brought OB back to Jireh to put the catheter in again. The vet said it went in smoothly…meaning there is no blockage and that his inability to pass urine is lack of tone. When I asked about manual expression he said they tried but could not…
The catheter will be removed again tomorrow before bringing OB to Dr. Oh for acupuncture on Saturday.
The vet bills for OB already $869.- so far… sigh!
Brenda was found with her pelvis completely shattered and extensive damage to the base of her spine. She is now undergoing surgery at Companion Animal Surgery at Boon Teck Road.
Old photo of Brenda:
Brenda, a community cat at Novena, had been missing for almost 2 weeks. I just got an email form the caregiver:
“I found Brenda but unfortunately she has been quite badly hurt. Her pelvis has been completely shattered and she has suffered quite extensive damage to the base of her spine and tail and is unable to urinate or defecate on her own. Fortunately she hasn’t suffered any damage to her kidneys but the vet can’t guarantee that her nerve endings will heal sufficiently that she will be able to go to the toilet on her own again.
She is being operated on Tuesday morning, please keep her in your prayers.”
