My Vow of Silence had lasted for three and a half months
No more scribbling notes that sometimes even I myself cannot read… my handwriting really sucks! But otherwise I had become quite comfortable being silent… and still am. Talking seems special now, something done with awareness and silence always being an option when there is no need for words.
He kept ripping the bandage off! E-collar not much use…
Now if this sleeve made from an old sock and attached to a harness doesn’t stay on than I really don’t know what else to do…
Less worry this way…and also good for him to rest in a safe place for a while. He took the antibiotics with his food.
Old photo of Patches
Joanne told me that patches is dying. She has refused food for the past 7 days. According to the vet it’s because of old age.
Whatever the past story and doubts 5 years ago… in the end I think Joanne really loves her cats!

…but still very playful!
I knew something was wrong when I saw him walking slowly yesterday and not very interested in the food. He was coughing, his one eye looked watery and he felt a bit warm.
I came with carrier prepared to take him in if necessary… but he looks better today and ate 2 Fancy Feasts.
Poor Stoney still has to wear the E-collar… it’s been almost one month! His sore was starting to heal but then he figured out how to reach the upper part of his front leg. Saw him do it… very clever! Now it’s bleeding again. The only thing I can think of is to bandage the leg. Bought some elastic bandage today…
There are also some sores starting under the tail and at the back of his hind legs. He is also able to reach these areas…sigh! And I have no idea what is causing it… as the vet found neither mites and nor fungal infection.
At least the chest part, where he can’t reach, is healing.
Trying NutraGold Finicky for the first time. The cats like the taste of the kibbles… but won’t eat them when they are covered with powder. I tried sieving… but the sieving and shaking just made it worse… more kibbles disintegrated!

Clever cats, good attempt… but using the shower to flush down poo in a bathtub does not work!
Of course I did not right away appreciate this clever attempt as I stepped into the bathroom this morning.
A surreal sight greeted me:
Bathtub at the brink of overflowing, various plastic bottles and pieces of what looked like mud floating in the water… shower-head and hose submerged…

Hope found himself a safe home… he was very persistent in becoming number 21!
From diarrhoea he went straight to limping followed by cat flu… until I didn’t have the heart to release him… especially knowing that he will hide in the deep drain… and it was raining every day!
Oki was sterilized today… using something to make him drowsy instead of the usual anesthetics. The vet assured me that it was safe as it could be quickly reversed if necessary. At first he thought Oki was a female and advised against sterilization because of the heart condition.

Oki has high fever…and eye discharge, coughing. Nushi also has fever and cough and is drooling. She looks very sick! Luckily I found two capsules of doxy in the fridge and could get them both started on antibiotics yesterday. Sponged to bring the fever down. Both need to be syringe-fed. A few of the others are also not well. Tommy has urinary infection…started giving Tommy, Ash, Rocky, Dawn and Snoopy acidifier.
Still busy with cat-sitting tomorrow…. very stressed!
